Good Deeds

I am a firm believer in Karma and doing good deeds.  I try to always smile at people where ever I go because you never know what kind of day someone is having and maybe that simple smile will brighten up someones day.  I know when someone smiles at me it makes my day brighter.

This last week most of my household was sick, Ash is the only one that has been spared of this flu like yuckiness!  While we were all sick we had a horrible wind storm that halfway blew down my flag pole.  It was not blown all the way down it was still above ground just not by very much.  There it stood for a couple of days all sad and lonely looking.  A nice man from down the street and his 2 darling kids stopped by and asked if the Marine of the house was at home.  When I explained that I am that Marines mom and my son has recently deployed to Afghanistan he asked if it would be ok if he fixed my flag pole for me.  I explained that the wind blew it over and I hadn't gotten a chance to fix it but that yes, i would appreciate the help.  A few minutes later he came back tools and concrete in hand.  I now have a perfectly erect flagpole flying our United States of America flag and the United States Marine Corp flag.

I was amazed at this mans generosity of time and material.  You see, Ash and I live in a predominately Mormon neighborhood so we are usually not talked to much.  Occasionally someone will say hello but usually only if we do first.  So this man going out of his way meant the world to me.  I sent him home with an arm load of a few bottles of everything Ash and I bottled this year as a thank you and still I know I can never repay the kindness that this man showed to me today.

Awww that was so sweet. I love to hear about people doing good deeds like that. You don't hear that kind of stuff very much anymore.
