Honor Flight

Ash and I had the most amazing experience at the Baltimore airport on our way home from CT so I must share and encourage everyone to open your wallets and donate even a small amount to Honor Flight (www.honorflight.org). Honor Flight is an amazing organization that transports America's veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Ash and I were fortunate enough to be in the airport as 2 of these flights came in back to back. To see every person in the terminal stand and applaud for every WWII veteran that debarked was such a moving experience. Some were pushed through the crowd in wheelchairs, some walked slowly, somewhat stooped and some stood tall but all were Hero's as they made their way through the welcoming gathering. The look on the veterans faces when they walked or were wheeled through a huge line of people applauding them and thanking them for their service is something I will never forget. I don't think there was a dry eye in the terminal including my usually tougher than nails wife Ashley.

I have a good friend who works in the corrections system here in Wisconsin and she volunteered to be there when that flight came in to Milwaukee as security. She was really touched by the event!!! To be honest with you I had nonidea what it was before she told me!

It's an amazing organization, I wish they had a chapter here in Utah so I could get involved.
